Primm Chapel A.M.E Church was organized in the home of Ruby Faye and Allen Hendrix.
The location at the time, March 6, 1957 was 127 Stewart St, La Marque, Texas.
Allen used his personal funds to begin the educational building because there was no place to worship. The goal was to build a Church at a later date, when the church had gained more members.
When the building was was built, Primm Chapel had a membership of five. They were the Hendrixes, Sis. Lillian Brown for whom Primm's Missionary Society is named; Sister Artis Walker, Sis. Brown's sister, and Brother Lawrence Hackney. These members worked together in Christian love, and the organization grew.
Others joined, including Bro and Sis Eddie Jackson; Bro and Sis Willard Smith , and two children Anice and Willard Jr. It was from Primm Chapel that Bro Smith went into the ministry, and became Rev. W. L. Smith.
There were others who came, Bro and Sis Joe Cloud; Sis. E . A Winston, and Sis. Lillie Mae Jackson, her daughter; also Sis. Johnnie May Hackney.
The church continues to grow, and many others, have joined.
